Problem
Autodesk, one of the largest Apigee SaaS customers, sought a zero-downtime migration to Apigee X to support its API platform strategy and vast customer/developer interactions. The project's scale (1.5B+ transactions/day across 5 global regions) necessitated specialized expertise. Google Engineering selected Digital Disruption for their execution and migration experience.
Solution
Digital Disruption prioritized Autodesk’s needs by collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders. They were able to manage dependencies, define objectives, and establish success metrics. They then quantified the impact of this work for producers, API consumers (external & internal), & internal processes. After the pre-work was complete, they jumped into the technical workstreams. The team ran functional & load tests for analysis so we could apply the output to reconfigure migration parameters optimally. Activities also included migration dry runs. So when a live migration was executed in the lower pre-production environments, they could apply the lessons learned to the production environments.
Digital Disruption's focus on accountability for all parties drove success and laid the foundation for Autodesk's self-sufficiency with the new system.
