ISO-NE: Application Development& API Management

Overview: ISO NE is an independent, not-for-profit corporation responsible for keeping electricity flowing across the six New England states and ensuring that the region has reliable, competitively priced wholesale electricity today and into the future.

Challenge: The various operators across the 6 states needed to be notified about events. The current infrastructure was unable to do so within the stipulated regulations and due to high visibility scenarios where operators and state officials needed to get notified on certain events. 

Solution: We developed a mobile based solution with Apigee as the API management platform, Firebase to store events data and cloud functions to query on-prem services for status information and trigger events to notify user base when high visibility events were triggered.

Benefit

Operators and government officials were able to get notified on emergency situations and high visibility events to take appropriate action which was a huge upgrade to the existing infrastructure.
