Quikorder: (Cloud migration & HA System)

Overview: 

Specializes in developing and maintaining internet-ordering systems used across the QSR industry with its ability to deliver an easy and personalized online ordering experience, and accelerate digital innovation across its base of more than 6,000 restaurants in the U.S.

Challenge:

Quikorder had a data center, and needed a strategy to broaden to a high availability solution to expose it’s services for a scalable solution. Especially on special occasions, or events. For example, Super Bowl; which is the busiest time of the year.  There were many complex scenarios that needed to be managed.

Solution:

We frontend the web applications and mobile applications with an API Management layer (which was able to handle massive loads). We begun the HA migration across multiple datacenters across 3 zones in the US. We defined a scalable, and repeatable CI/CD process with blue-green deployment models to promote small incremental builds and Canary testing.

Benefit:

We were able to failover and surmount to 350% of original traffic after the successful migration.
